More Matatus We've Seen

I know we talking about riding the matatus a lot but look, we only talk about matatus like a Londoner moans about the Tube. So, here are some of the matatus that we have entrusted our lives to on a daily basis:

Antigen
It implies the rather sophisticated analogy of Nairobi's traffic system as a human body, where traffic cops are the antibodies seeking out the virulent matatu-antigen. If Nairobi's traffic system was a human body, it would be dead on its arse.

Holistic
A nice corollary to antigen. An appeal to the city's law enforcers to take a different approach to the commuters' preferred method of transportation?

Swinish
If you've ever seen them being driven, you would probably agree with this and its refreshing to see such honesty from the matatu community.

Alfa Na Omega
The 'beginning and the end'? sounds a bit final to me

Flipper
Pretty sure this isn't about the kids tv show featuring a dolphin. Its in a little bad taste and rather oblique, if its referring to matatus being quite accident prone. 'Accident prone'! makes matatus sound like a clumsy child!

Syox, a gentile reborn
....? Sorry, I got nothing for this. Pure matatu mental.

Silence The Best Weapon
A clear winner mostly because it is so anachronistic; there is nothing silent or even quiet about matatus.

Also, if you've enjoyed our humorous look at the world of matatus then you might enjoying this comic made by current serving volunteers Ale and Chyna. Check it out, it's rather awesome.
Their blog is also worth a visit for more bloggings about the volunteering experience.
