Home

Welcome to our home! As we've mentioned we've recently moved from Langata to South B. The flat is a small 2-bed place on the 3rd floor of a fairly recent development. The block has 24-hr security and the area feels safe (we walk around at night without any bother). The view from the corridor outside the flat is of the local area:

The living room is kinda small but fine for the two of us, and we have managed five people eating around the coffee table! We put up some kangas we bought in Mombasa to decorate the walls and act as a curtain.

This is the kitchen. We use a water filter as the water comes from a borehole, and I have not quite established where the sewers run off to, so not worth the risk really. We do struggle for work-top space for cooking but I am building a table for the cooker which will help immensely! (You'll notice that I am blogging rather than making the table, but anyway).

This is our bedroom. It does have a fitted wardrobe (not as smart as it sounds), and this time you will notice the maasai blanket we are using as a curtain (well tbh 200ksh for a curtain rather than 1000 ksh for a fitted one to be made? That's, like, eight Tuskers cheaper!)

We have a spare room with a fitted wardrobe but no bed, but we do have some mattresses for our guests (in case you were thinking about coming over to stay). And Allys thought it best not to post our toilet/shower room, you nosey parkers! Rest assured we do have a hot shower, flush toilet and sink. Luxury!

Well, we have made our home quite quickly and we are enjoying the area (I am currently sat in a coffee shop 5 mins from the flat with free wi-fi). Look forward to having you around for a cup of tea.
